Rethink, Reuse, Restyle
At Mokami, we believe in the potential of every young person. Our Supportive Employment Program (SEP) is designed for young women and gender-diverse youth aged 16 to 29 in Happy Valley-Goose Bay who are entering the workforce or facing barriers to traditional employment.
Participants receive individualized support from dedicated staff while gaining hands-on experience through our social enterprise, Thrifty’s. We meet people where they are within a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm reduction approach.
Our team provides wrap-around support to help participants move toward stable employment. This may include:
- planning for transportation and housing
- employment training and skill-building
- access to health, legal, and community resources
- one-on-one support, mentorship, and advocacy
- building confidence, routine, and readiness for work
We also support participants in building connections to other programs and services that strengthen their growth and well-being.
If you’re interested in joining, we invite you to reach out and learn more about how SEP can support your journey. Please reach out to Patti at patti@mokami.org.
